The end of the world is our choice

Have you watched Jurassic Park? Wouldn't it be cool if they're still here, living with us but not eat us? It was possible that humans would be living with dinosaurs if it weren't for the asteroids that killed them. After so many years, scientists still believe that something like that can happen in the future. Because of that theory, the thought of having another Earth has been raised and studies have been made that it is possible. The asteroids aren't the only reason though. If you come to think of it, human population is exponentially increasing, thus, this means consumption of more food, water, utilities, etc. Philippines alone has already about 98 million people today and Metro Manila has a population of around 11 million. There was this video in History Channel where they force a boar (i.e. male pig) in a farm in Bulacan to mate with a hen (i.e. female pig) so that they can produce that would meet the demand of ~98 million people in the country. If they would think of profit, they would also consider exporting their goods. Also, this is not only done for pigs but also to other farm animals such as, but not limited to, chickens, cows, and sheep. Unfortunately, there will come a time that there will be so many of us on Earth that it cannot anymore accommodate (I think I've been watching way too much apocalyptic movies) unless we force ourselves to practice sustaining it.
To sustain our most beloved planet, Earth, it would be great if big companies can influence its employees and other stakeholders to do their part for Mother Nature. Campaigns such as segregation of waste and saving paper would be a great start to motivate people. Since charity programs for the unfortunate people are increasing, I hope the activities for the environment would also develop its number. Helping the environment would have a greater impact to our fellow men and women.
It's good to see that there's increasing number of electronic companies that employ the solar power technology. The challenge for them now is to maximize the space they're using instead of expanding the panels. These and other companies, who are financially capable, should fund our government's research and development department as they are expected to study the development of our country. It is observed that schools such as DLSU are helping with the research that the government is supposed to have. One good example is their solar car. If this product would be further developed, it would be amazing to see cars not dependent of gasoline/diesel anymore.
To end this blog, here's a funny thought for us millenials or for those who watched the movie 2012 - this will surely teach them.
